Born and raised in Grande Prairie, I’ve had the joy of watching our city grow and change over the years. I love spending time outdoors—gardening, camping, and enjoying nature with family and friends. No matter the season, I find peace and inspiration in being outside, especially in Northern Alberta where you truly learn to love the snow and cold.
My previous experience in management taught me the importance of flexibility and balance, while my ten years as a day home educator gave me firsthand insight into the daily rewards and challenges that educators experience. These roles shaped my approach to leadership and support, helping me better understand the diverse needs of our child care community.
I’m a firm believer that learning never stops. Continuing education allows us to grow, adapt, and face new challenges with confidence. I’ve completed Level 2 Early Childhood Educator certification, Mental Health First Aid, Brain Story Certification and Theory to Practice through the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative, Respect in School, Outdoor Play Training from Okanagan College, and Family Child Care Training through the Canadian Child Care Federation. I also enjoy attending workshops and seminars—both in person and online—to stay current and inspired.
Organization and follow-through are central to my work. I take great pride in supporting the educators in our program, helping them strengthen their operations and pursue continued learning. I’m so proud of those who have furthered their education in the Early Childhood field and am always happy to help in any way I can.
