Respite Program

At Stepping Stones, we understand that families sometimes need extra support during challenging or transitional times. Our Respite Child Care Program is designed to provide safe, nurturing, and responsive child care for children while supporting the well-being of parents, caregivers, and families.

The program works collaboratively with families, community professionals, and partner agencies to provide temporary child care placements for children who may be experiencing stress, instability, developmental concerns, or other family challenges. Our goal is to help reduce family stress, promote child well-being, and create positive outcomes for children through compassionate, relationship-based support.

The program focuses on creating safe, supportive, and enriching experiences that help children and families feel connected and supported. Educators and program staff work collaboratively to:

• Provide nurturing, responsive care in a safe environment
• Support children’s social and emotional well-being
• Encourage play-based learning and exploration
• Foster positive relationships and a sense of belonging
• Promote healthy development through inclusive programming
• Collaborate with families, community agencies, and support networks
• Support children with complex or diverse needs through individualized care approaches
• Reduce stress for families by offering reliable, compassionate support services

The program also emphasizes collaboration with community partners to strengthen outcomes for vulnerable children and families and increase access to supports within the community.
